Lauren von Eckartsberg, originally from Dublin, Ohio, is a portrait photographer based in Harlem, New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in Psychology and Spanish and a minor in Photography, a master’s degree from Columbia University in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and a one-year certificate from the International Center of Photography in Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism. Her work has been featured in W Magazine, Rockefeller Center’s Flag Project, NoMAA’s The Gram Uptown, Worthless Studio’s Free Film Project, and Harness Magazine. In 2021 she was a member of the Eddie Adams Workshop and in 2022 she formally joined the photography collective and creative agency, Souls in Focus as its Education and Community Engagement Director. Outside of her photographic career, von Eckartsberg has worked for New York Language Center, the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders, and currently, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
